EU Global actively promotes participation in Erasmus+ staff mobility as a core mechanism for strengthening international cooperation, professional development, and institutional excellence. Staff mobility enables academic and administrative personnel to engage in teaching, training, knowledge exchange, and capacity-building activities with partner institutions across Europe and beyond.

Erasmus+ staff mobility typically supports two complementary formats:

Staff Mobility for Teaching – allowing academic staff to deliver lectures, seminars, supervision, and other teaching-related activities at partner institutions.

Staff Mobility for Training – enabling staff to participate in professional development activities such as job shadowing, staff weeks, workshops, and structured training programmes that enhance institutional practices and individual competencies.

At EU Global, staff mobility is open to:

  • Academic staff involved in teaching, research, supervision, or curriculum development

  • Administrative and professional staff contributing to internationalisation, quality assurance, digital learning, student services, and institutional management

  • Doctoral candidates who are engaged in teaching, research support, supervision activities, or professional academic duties, and who contribute to EU Global’s educational and research mission

In line with Erasmus+ principles, doctoral candidates may participate in staff mobility when they are considered part of the institution’s academic community and are undertaking activities comparable to those of academic staff (e.g., teaching, training, research collaboration, or capacity-building). This reflects EU Global’s recognition of doctoral researchers as emerging academic professionals.

All staff mobility activities are implemented through approved mobility agreements or work plans that define objectives, expected outcomes, and recognition arrangements. EU Global ensures transparent selection procedures, institutional support before and after mobility, and integration of outcomes into teaching, research, and organisational development.

Through Erasmus+ staff mobility, EU Global strengthens international partnerships, enhances staff competencies, and fosters a culture of innovation, quality, and global engagement.

The Erasmus + Programme seeks to promote equal opportunities and access, inclusion, diversity and fairness across all its actions. Organisations and the participants with fewer opportunities themselves are at the heart of these objectives and with these in mind, the programme puts mechanisms and resources at their disposal.

In line with the strategic priorities of the Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027), the Programme aims to support this endeavour: to engage learners, educators, youth workers, young people and organisations in the path to digital transformation.

Environment and climate action are key priorities for the EU now and in the future. The European Green Deal Communication is the European new growth strategy and recognises the key role of schools, training institutions and universities to engage with pupils, parents, and the wider community on the changes needed for a successful transition to become climate neutral by 2050.

The Erasmus+ Programme addresses the citizens’ limited participation in its democratic processes and their lack of knowledge about the European Union, and tries to help them overcome the difficulties in actively engaging and participating in their communities or in the Union’s political and social life.
